28 - I personally like Matt, and I think some fanon is definitely necessary if an author wants to write him, but I agree that it has gotten out of hand sometimes. A bit of fanon, especially fanon that's a semi-logical extrapolation of his actions in DN, is cool. But when someone takes a characteristic and blows it out of proportion(like absolutely-subservient-puppy!Matt, which I'll admit annoys me), I can see where there might be a problem. And you're definitely right about the 'focusing on him above all others,' bit. I like his character, but it seems like everybody who didn't give up DN after L's death kind of forgot about L, or ignored Near or the SPK or Misa and Raito/Light and every other interesting character. *sighs sadly*
40 - I might know who you are, and that terrifies me. I'm probably way off base, but even if I am, don't be discouraged. You're right; it's your community. Yes, it's a community for everyone, and they all own shares in it, but you're the founder, the mod, and if you love it, stick with it.
