How is KnK progressive¿ I haven't watched it, but it's Kyoani, so I assume it's full of girls that act like they have some mental retardation or autism because it's so ~cute~.

I'm wondering where the hell "progressive" comes from, but personally I prefer Kyoani's type of fanservice. I'm weak against that cuteness.
Both shows are providing about the same level of enjoyment for me, which is "they're okay but at the end of the day I could take or leave them".

Who the hell thinks KnK's fanservice is progressive? It's full of totally out of place moe pandering that honestly takes me out of the story whenever it happens.

KlK's fanservice is problematic too, but it doesn't take me out of the story and distract me in the same way KnK's does.

(Seriously Akihito, shut up about megane. And the way Mirai switches from moe clumsy one moment to competent the next makes her feel like she's not a real character. Also the mom scene is creepy.)

Oh, how I wish KNK was about high school students fighting demons with none of that moe nonsense... It really feels out of place in here, and the first scene, in episode one, in which he calls her cute with her glasses when she standing at the edge of a building? What?

Right? I mean I get that it's sort of Kyoani's thing, but this isn't a slice of life show like K-ON or something where I expect that kind of a thing. It's a show about teenagers fighting demons, and the moe is really just cluttering it up and throwing me out of the atmosphere majorly.

Who says that KnK is progressive?
I'm watching because it's a pretty dark series for KyoAni to take on and I'm interested to see where they'll go with it - they tried something new with Free! and that was a success, so I'd like to see them pull it off a second time. Plus, I have a weakness for demon-fighting anime with gorgeous graphics.
I'm not watching KlK because I'm not interested in the randomness and how it reminds me of FLCL.
But that doesn't mean that one is more progressive than the other. Fanservice is fanservice anyway, right?

KyoAni has done "darker" before. It animated The Second Raid.

Nitpicking, but most articles I saw about KNK also ended up asking whether this meant more FMP! adaptations, so it seems to have a lingering fanbase.
