Halloween Costumes

What is everyone going as? Are you making or buying your costume? What are your plans or family traditions?

I'm going as Jessie (Toy Story) because I'll be volunteering with kids Halloween Night.

Since I'm on a military base, our mandated trick or treat hours are like from 5 to 7...I'll be working then, and we really don't get too many kids anyway (like...5 last year.)

I'm dressing as a robot and going to an organic chemistry midterm. Not the most ideal of plans, but I'll survive. :3

I'm being a skeleton! I looked at my wardrobe and discovered I have skeleton tights, gloves, and a ribcage t-shirt, so all I really need to do is throw on a skirt and some makeup with all that.

Nothing. We don't really have Halloween in my country and it makes me sad. Some kids go to parties, but we have carnival for that so nobody really cares about Halloween.

Australia doesn't have a big halloween tradition but because I work at a toy store I'll have to pull out my polkadot shirt and grab my minnie mouse ears to dress up on the day.

pantswarrior: Lunatic has a literal "facepalm". (lunatic)

If I'm already in Detroit for Youmacon, I'll probably be in some complex cosplay, possibly arranging a pro photoshoot before the place is too crowded and it's hard to get a clean backdrop. Maybe my original wood nymph outfit, maybe Lunatic.

If I'm still at home, I'll be going out to karaoke with some friends and family and probably wearing something odd but not too elaborate that I haven't already packed for Youmacon, like Link, or just a strangely colored wig/clothes combo.

I'm going as rule 63 Ventriloquist (the Batman villain) with a rule 63 Scarface. My costume is easy, but I have to make the Scarface doll - I was going to make a small pinstriped suit and cigar for one of my American Girl dolls.

You clearly need to acquire a monkey statute, cut it in three pieces, paint it silver, and spend all of halloween hilariously failing to put it together again.

Also, A+ costume choice!

Zatanna. I did that last year, once I found a woman's tailed jacket at one of the halloween stores. I already owned the tophat, fishnets, and a nice white vest. I will be picking up a black wig this year, though.

And I'm going to a couple of parties, one the weekend before, and one the weekend after. If for some reason I end up doing more than those events, I'll probably just put my Kim Pine costume back together, especially now that I actually have red hair to go with it.

I will probably be working (grocery store), since Thursdays are my usual evening shift, but if tradition hold we'll be allowed to dress up. If so I'll be Fem!Indiana Jones. Dark pants and shoes, white button-down, vintage leather jacket I found at a thrift store a couple Halloweens ago (bought it with great glee while wearing the rest of the costume), "authentic" Indy fedora (bought in the Temple of the Forbidden Eye gift shop at Disneyland), belt, and whip.

In the chance I 1) am not working 2) am not busy with schoolwork 3) am actually doing something for Halloween, I'm planning on just wearing my kigurumi and prolly my wig.

Watch Toy Story of Terror?

It starts here in ten minutes and I'm weirdly excited.

Tragically, Halloween is not really a big thing here in Australia but I am going to a party where we'll watch terrible b-grade horror movies.

I'm (hopefully) going as a 1920's gangster from the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre, so basically a nice pinstripe suit and hat, but with bulletholes in my chest. :D
