What are the saddest short (one shot or maybe 2 short parts) fics you've ever read? The shorter the better, IMO that short punch to the gut is something brilliantly suited to fic.

I know I am probably her biggest fangirl, but the fic that comes to mind right now is one of Valandhir's:

It's the story of what happens if it were Faramir who went to Rivendell (as seen from Boromir's POV).

There are names that come up in it that are familiar to anyone who has read Raven's Blade, but it's not really necessary to have read that series to understand this fic.
