Yes, none of the 300 million Americans can possibly know how to spell your country's name. For fuck sake.

While I don't claim to know 300 million US americans... It's very common to see spanish-sounding names misspelled in their texts. I have seen Mejico and mejicanos or mejicans many, many times, despite the fact that it's written Mexico, and Mexicans and Mexicanos, just like New Mexico. And yes, ColOmbia versus Columbia is very common too.
