But a part of SPN's mythology is that gods derive their power from the amount of worship they get... therefore it just fits their mythology that the Christian God would be more powerful, and many of the older pagan gods not so much...

I think that's a somewhat academic distinction...either the Christian (or Abrahamic, if you prefer) pantheon are just inherently bigger and badder and therefore win; or they have more worshippers and the power that goes with them, therefore, they're better and they win. And winning is everything, dontcha know.
