I'm that person who makes you sad. I have skipped over all of the weather songs but two. The Bus in the Rain one and the one in the most recent episode. :(

I don't really mind what other people do, but I love the weather songs! Well, not all of the songs individually, but just that it's a thing. Since I'm a big 90s rock person and mostly only know how to dig for that, I don't get much exposure to modern music. So having it brought to me via podcast is nice!

I don't skip over them, but I usually use them as a sort of commercial break to grab a drink or something. I do listen to them, I just don't pay strictest attention like I do when Cecil is talking.

Everyone has different musical tastes. I dislike the weather probably 70% of the time, but I always listen to the songs the first time through. After that if I don't dig the song I'll skip it. If other people want to skip it completely I don't blame them.

Sorry, OP, but I skipped over the weather on the most recent ep because i HAD TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT.

I really wasn't crazy about the song in the pilot (sorry, Joseph) but I don't think I've disliked a single weather song since then, even if there have only been a couple that made me want to look into the artist's other stuff.

Sorry for making you sad, OP. All the ones I listened to ranged from 'didn't really care about' to 'absolutely hated/could not skip over fast enough,' so finally I figured I should accept that the music style WTNV tends to use is just not for me.

I only get upset when people just refuse to give each one a chance and assume none of them will be "their kind of music." The range of styles is astounding and when you have things like Team the Best Team which is completely different from The Brightness which is completely different from Sni Bong it doesn't make sense to only listen to one and decide it's not your style. You don't walk into a library and pick a few books at random, read a few pages and decide you don't like them, and then declare the entire library to have a lousy selection, do you?

Weather-skippers: it's fine if you give the song one full listen and then decide against sitting through it again, heck I do that with some of the weather! (Closer is almost physically painful for me to listen to...) But you really should give it that first shot.

I always skip the weather and, frankly, I'm not sorry. Mostly because I don't see why you should care if someone skips something they don't like.

Okay, so can someone fill me in about Night Vale? I've seen posts about it pop up here for months and seen it on tumblr... I googled it just now and found a bit of info, but not that much.

Where did that come from all of a sudden? Where do you listen to the podcasts? How do you know that a new one is up?

It's... kinda like watching a train with a fandom pass me by every day, but I have no idea where it came from or where the station is to hop on the train.

I always listen to the beginning of the weather to see if it's any good, and then, except for Waiting for the Bus in the Rain, I skip over it because it isn't.
