She does that? Ugh, that's a bit lame. Mostly because it doesn't add much story, but it might still keep you from more interesting headcanons.

People are going to have their headcanons whether they put it to fanfic or not. She should have never put it out there in the first place if she didn't want people having their headcanons.

She drives me nuts—I was glad that I couldn't get through the first few chapters of any of her books, after I found out how much she hated fandom.

Now I refuse to read anything by her, not that it was every a hardship for me.

Better yet, she did that back in the day in a full page newspaper ad when someone bought a property that she claimed Lestat disappeared into or some such. Basically, she's batshit insane: http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/1132356.html

If I recall correctly, she also sued a fanfic writer for starting a Vampire Chronicles fanfic archive.

I don't think she won. But that didn't stop her from threatening to sue other fanfic writers, and for shutting down almost every VC fanfic archive on the internet.
