Curse of Chucky, why...(Spoilers)

(Anonymous) 2013-10-18 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
I loved almost the entire thing, except for the huge retconning of Chucky's backstory. (And that sort of plothole at the end, but eh) I...don't understand how Charles Lee Ray went from a serial killer thief who worked with a partner and was obsessed with voodoo to a mentally unhinged guy who was obsessed with getting a family? I guess Mancini wrote Eddie Caputo out, for whatever reason, too. I just don't see how that was necessary.

The rest of the movie was great. The homages to the other films were nice, and the Alex Vincent cameo at the end was amazing.

I watched Son of Chucky a couple months ago and was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable and funny it was.

I guess I need to watch this one too.

Curse of Chucky was a tonal reboot, so it's not a horror comedy so much as just straight up horror.
