Their coats are beautiful, but I've never been able to get past their unusual conformation or their reputation for being difficult to handle.

If it helps, from what I've seen of them the reputation for being difficult is at least in part because they tend to be sort of..."My person/persons" horses, if that makes sense. And if to you aren't that person* then they're a bit harder to handle. But if you are their person? Then they're remarkably loyal animals.

*Again, from what I've heard they tend to be one person horses, though they occasionally bond with more than one.

That makes sense. Also, I will admit that part of my prejudice against them comes from being the owner of an Arabian horse. Arabian fans and Akhal-Teke fans have a bit of a rivalry, y'see. It's practically required.
