This is so very true! This is a very good comment. *claps*

My only complaint that even comes close to this issue is that people often only write that melodramatic gloriously mushy feelings-y fic about EPIC PLATONIC GUY LOVE that I love unless it's slash. They so rarely write it as platonic friendship, and I wish there was more of that. Because I looooooove seriously intense friendship fics.

So my problem is not "ugh why so much slash," it's "why so little gen friendship? :(" But sometimes, some people seem to think that if you like gen, that must mean you wish there was less slash or something, and I have never wished there to be less slash, not even in the most slash-filled fandoms.

I also really, really wish there was more EPIC PLATONIC GIRL LOVE. That's even rarer :(
