Stupid health
(Anonymous) 2013-10-18 02:20 am (UTC)(link)I've been having facial twitches all day, and a few renegade body twitches. I think they're just a product of me being stressed about school and work, and not drinking/eating enough. They've eased up once I flopped into a semi-supine position against the wall with some pillows. Apparently my body just can't right now.
I've been drinking gatorade for electrolytes and such; anybody have any more dietary/health tips in general?
(Before anyone says go to the doctor, I have an appointment in like a week.)
Re: Stupid health
I also want to say that if it's gotten this bad after the first seizure you had, you probably want to get in touch with your doctor and find out if they have other recommendations for doctors that could see you sooner (since you said it was going to be a month, I think?). I would also call the doctor (this is your GP?) and find out if they have an emergency appointment slot. They try to keep some for established patients. If I have misunderstood and it is the specialist you see in a week, I would still call and find out if they have an emergency appointment.
If you haven't already, folks close to you need to be aware of what's going on, because it sounds like it's getting more frequent, and the intensity could increase, too.
*hugs offered*

(Anonymous) 2013-10-18 07:45 am (UTC)(link)That said, try making sure you keep hydrated and maybe carry a water bottle and/or small snack with you if possible. While I don't have the exact same problem, I do have a thing where I have to be pretty careful about that or I pass out*. Speaking from that experience, it's a lot easier on you if you keep something on hand to tide you over until you get something a bit more substantial in you. It doesn't have to be huge - but say...a little bag of nuts or something can really help.
Also, if you don't, try eating six small meals instead of three large ones. It's technically healthier for you, and it can actually be a little easier since it means you don't depend as much on any one meal for a large chunk of energy.
*and before someone says "Everyone does that" - no. I mean I've been known to pass out from skipping one regular meal.
