"May or may not be right?" Oh, okay, so even you aren't really objecting to it. Yeah, you can't criticize Barrycades anymore, even if you do think the word sounds dumb. New tone is the same as the old tone, I see.

Seriously. Disagree with Obama on policy? RACIST. Horsewhip the Tea Party? Well, they may or may not be right.

I swear, the goggles are so tight they're causing brain damage.

I'm not comparing the two. I'm saying they're different things, and they're bad for different reasons. And this isn't at all a partisan thing - as I said at the beginning of this, the barrycades thing is just as fucking dumb as the dumbass names that liberals use for conservatives, or the insulting names they used for Bush (Rethuglicans, or... god, I can't even remember any of the Bush nicknames, I just remember them being incredibly embarrassing). That shit always annoyed me, for exactly the same reason barrycades does, and - let me reiterate this for the record - it is not a tone argument or because it is demeaning to politics or tends to cause tension. It is, on the most fundamental level, because I think those nicknames are really fucking stupid.

the thing about 'may or may not be right' was a different thing and I probably shouldn't have thrown it in there, whatever, forget about it. My point is that saying they should be horsewhipped is wrong for a totally different reason than the reason why barrycades is dumb (and, I mean, yes, the former is more serious than the latter, but you were the one who brought it up in the first place; I was only ever complaining about the idiotic nicknames, not the use of an angry tone)
