What I *have* run into is dudes trying to give you "advice" and free gear without being prompted as soon as they find out you're a woman.

Thiiiiis. I'm not an MMO player, but it's happened to me multiple times playing YGO. "Here, I know you want this card, so you can just have it!" So awkward. Trade with me like you would with any other duelist please. I've heard stories of it happening in MMOs as well.

From the comments though it seems like everyone's experience is different, and both sides of the equation do exist and they're annoying. It sounds to me, though, like the guys just annoy individual girls, and the girls annoy everyone. =/
