I feel the same as you. They're not saints but they're nice enough. I follow both of them on tumblr and haven't seen anything...um, bad? Maybe I missed something though. I haven't caught up with their actual videos so who knows? They do have a lot of backlash because they have a huge fanbase that is very prominent on tumblr. The "Make John Green find the thing" game is annoying at best but harmless overall.

Maybe one of the people they follow but I don't posted something I'm not aware of that caused a stir. If what the people who you follow are to be taken seriously, anyway.

I should also note that a lot of people forge John Green's tumblr onto random posts to make it look like he's said something so that also could be a problem.

Your best bet though is to ask the people you follow. If you're afraid to attach your name to the question try to do it anonymously.
