is it sketchy as hell? yes. should the other guy have stopped? yes.

is it rape? no, not if the the character in question says it wasn't.

I agree.
But no matter that first encounter, I love it to bits, it's a relationship that grows a lot and beautifully so as the secret says. I'm offended at people being offended at Misaki deciding for himself.

Oh yeah, as if victims of sexual assault never become so psychologically damaged that they end up excuse their abusers and try to rationalize their experience to deal with the trauma, misplacing the blame and guilt on themselves (for "enjoying" it). Let's normalize this and expect it to not harm anyone at all.

What is it about this series that people find so romantic? I see no awesome relationship development, just the usual tired yaoi tropes. One guy treats the other like crap for much of their relationship. The other guy is so intent on pleasing people that he's almost a doormat. With that kind of Stockholm Syndrome setting, no wonder he starts to question himself.

Sometimes I wonder if you people even know what you're raving about

your first problem here is trying to apply realism to porn. that never ends well because porn, by its very nature, is not meant to be realistic and the people who read and watch it know this. that's why they're reading or watching porn - because it isn't realistic.

i don't know a single person who actually believes that porn is anything like real life.

This. Thank you for saying it better than I could.
