Did you miss the memo where the ayrt was talking about the characters' portrayal in the series?

And also, yes, "almost getting raped but not getting raped" and "actually getting brutally raped" is actually a huge difference when it comes to what an underage actress is legally able to do in a TV series. What about that are you not getting?

There's a TV movie based on a true story starring Eastenders actor Brooke Kinsella as an abused child. She was 13-14 when it was filmed and it included scenes of rape.

I don't know what the laws are in the US, but underage actors are allowed to film adult scenes if they have parental permission.

DA

Slightly offtopic, but didn't Dakota Fanning also portay a character who was raped in a movie at young age? Never seen the movi e myself, but I vaguely recall there being a shitstorm over it.

She did! But the way the scene was filmed was that she was completely alone on set and had very little context for what was going on when they were filming. So they kept her as sheltered from the context as possible.

I didn't know that, so thanks for the information. Keeping her in the dark about the context and have her completely would probably be the best way to handle it .

Having her be completely be alone on set*

Guess I should probably get some coffee. Not fully awake yet.

It was Hound Dog if I remember correctly, they had problems getting a distributor. I recall Dakota making a remark about how it was sure to get her an Oscar nomination

I suppose it depends on how graphic it is, I saw No Child of Mine (the drama with Brooke Kinsella) and whilst it wasn't graphic it certainly was disturbing.

Yes, but the male-gazey gratuitous tits-and ass kind of rape GoT does is quite different from a scene where rape is depicted as the atrocity it is.
