Mine, too. It's the only time it's happened within guild, and I really don't know how that particular guy managed to miss it because we talked fairly frequently. It doesn't help that the classes I tend to play aren't ones that were stereotypically female. That guild was about half women but probably 2/3 of the women played healers. I was one of the few who was DPS/tank, and have been a tank almost entirely since early Wrath.

So, if I'm doing LFD or whatnot, I'm almost always assumed to be male, because I'm the tank! Despite that in... *thinks*... every raid group I've been in since ICC has had only women tanks. (It wasn't planned that way, it just happened.) But tanks are guys, don'tcha know? SIGH.

(If the group in LFD has been absolutely silent, or has been dick-ish but not to the point that I would drop, I usually keep my mouth shut at the assumption. If they've been talkative and nice (which I only seem to ever see happen if I have people from my own server in LFD) then I correct them, and it almost always goes okay. If otherwise, though, there's unfortunately a good chance of prickishness, which I just don't want to deal with.)

Yeah - different response types. I'm the kind of person who will bull my way through any conflict because it's really important to me that people do not have the wrong idea. Male-default mindsets are annoying and dumb and both contribute to and result from sexism in gaming. But then I am definitely not the conflict-avoidant type at all. In fact I can be really pushy sometimes... :s

Basically, I'll risk the prickishness. If it ends up being so horrible I can't deal with it, well, then I didn't really want to play with them anyway. But that's usually not what happens.
