I rarely click on a fic that doesn't have the number of hits showing unless the summary really draws me in and/or it's being recced far and wide. I want to be able to see the hits/kudos ratio.

I don't either, but my basis is because I figure people who hide their hits are oversensitive, so I probably shouldn't open that can of worms by commenting.

If you filter works by hit counts, the work will show up in the right place for the number of hits it actually has. And in active fandoms the hit counts are usually close enough to the one before and after to get a good idea if the work is good or sucks (like a Sterek fic--the one above might have 10034 hits and the one below might have 10003 so you know the one in the middle in stealth mode has hits between that. In small fandoms there could be a difference of several hundred so it might not work as well).
