That is quite interesting! See I can tell faces apart but I am horrible with names. I lived with 3 people for a semester and could never remember their names. I knew several girls for four years while in college and forgot their names all the time.

Names I'm okay with... I used to think I was just incompetent and stupid. Like there was that thread I think yesterday about "your most embarrassing moment" - everything I could think of was me mistaking one person for another, most prominently my parents or my girlfriend (of nine years, who I was unable to pick out of a crowd awhile back because she was unexpectedly wearing a hat). There were these two girls in my grade when I was in elementary school who both had shoulder-length curly blonde hair and I wound up being mocked repeatedly when I could never tell which was the one in my class in a given year, even after years of seeing them both around...

Then a few years ago I found out that faceblindness is an actual condition, in fact commonly tied to Asperger's - and well, both my mom and youngest brother have been formally diagnosed, so the genetics would seem to be there to account for it. Not that I feel any less stupid or incompetent when it causes problems, but I at least can go "Yeah, sorry, this is a known problem for me."

I also just thought of another celebrity I can usually tell apart from others, and that's Michael Richards, but that may be mostly because he looks approximately the same and has the same unusual mannerisms in every role I've seen him in.
