Ugh, this is weird, but can anyone rec me good fics that go into detailed descriptions of the symptoms of taking drugs and/or withdrawal from drugs? Preferably in an angsty or h/c context?

The Boy With Kaleidoscope Eyes by strangnessandcharm. Now, it is Supernatural and so thus has some magic stuff. But regardless of that, I think it is a pretty good portrayal of drug withdrawal. It is Gen.

Summary: Drugs are bad, m’kay? Castiel finds out the hard way...

Dunno how accurate the perspective is, but paranoia and having hallucinations of voices and swarming bugs have all been legitimately reported with cocaine use. In any case, the fic is awesome.

Victorian Sherlock Holmes: Louder Then Words by wave_of_sorrow. Addiction is personified, so it's kinda between vague and graphic.

Criminal Minds: Condemned, which expands Reid's addiction. There are a couple of sequels. It's been a while since I read this, but I remember it leaning towards detailed. Look into other Reid fics; it's a really common plot for fic.
