Re: Does your mental image of characters ever stubbornly refuse to match their description?

A lot of the time book characters will be "played" by different characters from visual media in my head, regardless of how well they match physically. For example, Voldemort is Hades from Hercules, and Sabriel is Kris from Pokémon.

I do that a lot too. Usually there will be just one small thing, a small described visual trait or a character quirk or something that will make me think of a character from another series and no matter how much that mental image gets contradicted later, I won't be able to shake it from my head. (Most recent one I can think of is Rue from the Hunger Games, who due to her name immediately made me think of Rue from Princess Tutu and even though I knew the two characters should look completely different I could not stop visualizing Hunger Games Rue as Tutu Rue.)
