I don't actually I mean I think it's taken too seriously in fiction -- if anything I would agree it's sometimes taken too lightly, because it is an asshole thing to do. I'm comparing my reaction more to some of the other reactions here, the 'cheating is an absolute no' sort of response. For me it's just... one of a collection of asshole things to do. Worse than smoking in the bathroom, not as bad as driving drunk.
