(Anonymous) 2013-10-21 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)I won't argue your points, but on the other hand, the whole theme of Poirot is that he, as a foreigner, is often underestimated or regarded with contempt by the British, and then he proves them wrong. He's the quintessential outsider. Those books poke fun at xenophobia and nationalism.
