I am going to need you to show your work on this.

I do not understand this at all. What...how...why?

They are Sims 2 characters

[personal profile] fingalsanteater 2013-10-20 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That's Circe and Loki Beaker from the Sims 2 neighborhood Strangetown. And, holy shit that takes me back.

They tortured a poor sim called Nervous Subject.

In my game, they had a daughter named Tara. Nervous Subject had twins with a townie bartender who then died in an unfortunate "where's the door HOLY FUCK THESE CHAIRS ARE WAY TOO CLOSE TO THE FIREPLACE" accident. He then married a single mother with son who had moved to Strangetown with her private detective brother (my dad created the character and he named him Randall Tex Cobb) who was looking for Bella.

Can we call the Cersei/Loki ship Maxis-shipping?

Ohhh man I remember Strangetown!

My favourite place! (Welcome to Night Vale actually reminds me of a combination of Strangetown and Springfield.)

Randall Tex Cob. What a manly, rugged name for a detective.

Man, TS2 was the best. Despite being older, it was more playable than TS3 for some reason.

ITA about TS2/TS3. I bought 3 both for myself and a friend for Christmas a couple years ago, and I wish I'd gotten 2 instead, since I've played it before on another friend's computer. I think it's just better overall - not that I hate 3, but 2 is more workable imo.

I think TS2 had far less patch and update faults than TS3, and less propensity to crash for no reason.

I remember in my game, Nervous Subject always ended up with Pascal Curious because I let ACR run rampant and when you play the Curious household, Nervous is always there. I turn away for a moment and bam, flirting. My game was wonderfully gay.

Aren't there some Sims that the fandom decided were "canon" gay? Beau Broke was one of them, I thought. Pascal and Nervous were the other two.

Yeah, you can use cheats to see the characters' preset preferences, and Nervous is neutral to males and repulsed by females. I've never heard anything like that for Pascal, but with the whole mpreg thing, I definitely think Pascal/Nervous might've been the intention. I think the Beau Broke thing just caught on because of "Strangetown, Here We Come" though.

How?

They look nothing alike... so I guess it has to do with their simish personality?

Poor Loki.

I'm sorry more people don't get your joke. I found it very amusing and will think of it every time I see the Beakers.

This makes a lot of sense.
