If OP is male, being a virgin is something horribly negative. Hence a whole fucking comedy about it.

If you base your self worth off of movies then yeah, I can see why there'd be a lot of baggage attached.

Note to self: If anyone ever says TV/Movie/Magazines affect how women feel about themselves, I am going to tell them that.

No. You're twisting what the anon said. Men don't feel pressured to lose their virginity because of a movie; the movie was made BECAUSE men feel pressured to lose their virginity. Men who feel that pressure aren't basing it on the film at all. The film is a symptom of the real problem.

If you honestly do not believe this pressure exists in society, you're not looking very hard. It's VERY prevalent. And it exists for women, as well. There's this contradictory pressure imposed on women to both lose their virginities (because otherwise they're prudes) and to not sleep around (because that makes them sluts). So basically women can't win. But men who are virgins can even feel suicidal because of the way people treat them.

Yep, all of this. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

They're two different, but similar pressures.

Not to mention the idea that if you haven't had sex there's OBVIOUSLY something wrong with you (because we all know that fuckability is a great measuring stick for people) and that older people consider virgins a waste of time when they easily find someone with experience.

So not only do you get all this shit, but you're also on a time limit. If you're in your late 20s and beyond, you keep getting the general attitude that it's 'too late' and you'll never lose it unless someone takes pity on you. Awesome.
