OMFG somebody left kudos on this epic huge illustrated thing of mine that I was writing purely for my own enjoyment because the fandom is non-existent??? I LOVE YOU random person U R BEAUTIFUL thank you <333

Yeah, so it's this feeling when a single kudos for your work in an obscure fandom makes you a hundred times more excited than five kudos for a work in a bigger fandom.

I totally feel you, anon. I just got six kudos on a fic for a fandom that is quite almost non-existent despite the fame of the author for other works. I was more excited for it than the hundreds of kudos I've gotten for works for more popular fandoms. When a fandom is that small, kudos mean that much more <3

I celebrate every kudos for my tiny!fandom fic, too.

(May I ask what fandom you are in?)

I went with being anon in case the person who read my fic reads f!s, but I guess it's an unnecessary precaution. My fandom is Murder Rooms, and okay I'm still anon but the cover is sort of blown.

And what's yours? :)

I have no clue about that fandom so I can't comment on the fic but your art is awesome!

My fandom is Havemercy, so my cover is a bit better XD The other small fandom I have a fic in is Hornblower, but since it's a short genfic and the fandom isn't exactly very active, nobody seems to read or like it oh well XD

<3 thank you!

I've never read Havemercy, though it definitely sounds cool (a bit like a hi-fi counterpart of Rivers of London, and the Russia-based country where the events take place? yeeah), but I'd totally read your Hornblower genfic if you don't mind revealing your AO3 pseud. I'm into gen, and I'm currently midway through the Hornblower franchise. The books, at least, are awesome.

I don't know Rivers of London, I'm afraid, but yes, at least the first book in the series is quite entertaining, imo.

Uh, I have to say, the fic is gen, but there might be very ignore-able slashy subtext and it's basically a deathfic? If all of that doesn't bother you, the fic's called "That we should take this road again".

Hornblower is great. I wish they would continue the film adaptions now, the actors are just the perfect age for older Captain Hornblower and Crew now!

...your fic is now my headcanon for Hornblower's death. I don't even know.

So with you there. It's not that I don't appreciate comments/kudos on Star Trek stuff, but holy crap someone read my Vagrant Story or Ico fic and left a comment/kudos?!?!?!oneetc.

!!!

I loved your Vagrant Story fics when I read them for the first time but it's been a while. I really need to re-read them once I have time again!

Heh, thanks... uhm, anonymous reader! VS is still sort of my pet fandom even after all these years, and I still can't say I'm done writing in it. (Actually have been considering sort of a "reboot" of my headcanon... just so I have an excuse to write more Sydney/Hardin. ;))

I get that! I'm usually in tiny fandoms and even the large-ish fandom I'm in right now, I've apparently made up my mind to obsess over a very minor character, so my stuff tends to get passed over in favor of main characters. Finding people who appreciate the same stuff, even if it's just a passing Tumblr like or AO3 kudo, makes me SO HAPPY.
