You can always tell who the Tumblr people are

(Anonymous) 2013-10-20 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
cause they type in all lowercase and use very little if any punctuation

that could be me when I'm experimenting with different intonations. I also like the whole random question marks thing. Sometimes I put them in the middle of my sentences, too. And I have never been a tumblr user. go figure

It used to be an irc thing in my fandom spaces.

I was typing in lowercase and using little punctuation before tumblr was a spark in its daddy's eyes

Isn't it correct to not capitalize "tumblr"?

Anyway, I don't associate a lack of capitals/punctuation with tumblr. It's been around a lot longer than that and it's not universal there.

That's where all these super speshul lowercase-abusing hipsters got it from.

I hate that this is such a big trend in Tumblr. I get being excited about things and CAPSLOCKING AND ABUSING PUNTUATION!1!!12! for emphasis, hell, I do it too sometimes. But all in good measure, no? If a post doesn't have capitalization or is in all caps, and abuses punctuation (or doesn't use punctuation at all) on its entirety it feels so... rude :/ Or like the poster is a Actually Twelve Years Old.

#abusing tags #is also a good way to turn me off a post #i mean #like can't put your text in actual prose #and the tumblr tag system #won't even pick up these tags #they're just for showing off #I feel #feels #so many feels #this makes me angry in so many levels #at least leave it in tumblr #pretty please? #hate finding these in AO3 #smh #AND THEY'RE NOT EVEN REBLOGGABLE #don't get it #so very old #whippersnappers these days #flies into the sun

If I'm only typing one sentence in which there is no punctuation, then I sometimes do that.
