I don't really get why people would complain about 'I like this' reviews?!

I felt really pleased when people would favourite/alert my stuff too! Either they like it enough to have it on their profile that they like it, or they liked it enough to want to be emailed about when it was updated, it was great!

The only bad reviews are cruelly negatives ones and nonsensical ones. Let's not put off people (like me) who are reluctant to review great fics, because they often feel intimidated by the author's talent.

That's exactly why I like the kudos feature on AO3 so much. You can go "I liked this!" without fearing that you're ticking someone off who won't appreciate it, or that your attempt to expand on what you liked doesn't make you sound like a babbling idiot to the author. :P

I mean, that's why I don't tend to leave reviews. Kudos, though? Yep.
