Oh man, it's been so long that I don't even have the faintest idea where they are any more. I'm also not even sure there are links, because it involved a hostile takeover and a bunch of deletions. This was seriously like two years ago, but here's the five cent summary:

The owner of the death_note, at the time the only big DN community on LJ, put out a call for new mods because she had become too busy to handle everything by herself. After some consideration, she selected a few individuals to be assistant moderators, and added them to the community's approved mod list. One of those people then proceeded to stage a hostile takeover, deleting the original owner and all of the new mods from the community's mod list. The claim that person made was that the original owner should have been more careful in selecting new mods if she didn't want something like a takeover to happen. That person remained as mod, with one of their friends appointed to assist them. The fandom fractured when people found out, with a bunch of people going to join a new comm created by the original owner and her other selected mods, a bunch of people staying because they hadn't liked the original owner / didn't care, and people like me who bailed on the whole fandom because the drama was more effort than it was worth.

Basically, the fandom got screwed because of the one jerk. And I (and apparently someone else! ^.^;; ) still remember how freaking annoying it was.

I'm glad at least I'm not the only one. It was so long ago, and when Death Note was still so small that most people don't even know what happened.
