Some people just absorb every accent they're exposed to like a nasty linguistic sponge. Clearly he's one of them.

Tell me about it. It's actually really annoying if you managed to cultivate a pretty good accent when speaking as an ESL and then you spend some time with people who have accents you don't like - well sucks, now you have that accent instead!

... That's his real accent? It's consistent for a couple sentences and then two or three words will wander off and start touring Europe independent of the rest of his speech. Some of them seem to have decided they're going to visit central America.

(Not that I can talk, when I get nervous I do the same thing, but wow. He seems to do it all the time.)
