There are rumours that both Squall and Cloud were inspired by him, but the one who actually is Gackt's self insert in the Franchise is Genesis in Final Fantay VII Crisis Core. It's an unnecessary Gary Stu character who is both modeled after and voiced by Gackt.

Fascinating. I really do need to get around to playing Crisis Core, now that I have a PSP. It's on the PSP, right?

Yes, it is. It's not a bad game, just the Gackt character is incredibly annoying.

Apparently Nomura wanted Genesis to have more belts and more scenes, until Gackt told him to tone it down. I love Gackt as a singer, but daaaammmnnn I'm glad his shitty character didn't get more scenes in Crisis Core.

I'm finding the idea of Gackt telling Nomura, "damn, let's just dial it back on the belts a little, okay?" to be strangely hilarious.
