This is the show with Rodney 'BEST SCIENTIST WHO EVER SCIENCED' McKay, and the first person you think of being a Mary Sue is Teyla?

Sam on SG1 was much more of a Mary Sue than Teyla. And I liked her too.

I don't know if Rodney is a complete Gary Stu, he has some of those qualities and as the show progressed he definitely turned into a geek writer fantasy (especially once Keller was introduced.) But he had a lot of major flaws and his character was a major ass (especially in the beginning), not to mention Sam was always the better scientist.

As anon above said, Sam was more of a Mary Sue, but I also liked Sam, maybe it was her actress but her perfection rarely bothered me.

True. TBH though, I can't think of a single SG1/SGA character I actively disliked though. Maybe Five and Replicarter? They were kind of dicks.

But even Five gets to be sympathetic for that one episode. And Replicarter is just evilly evilly hot. LOL

I love them all to bitty bits, even the bad guys.

No way Garek was the WORST like he's that guy who just went oh Earth says left well I say RIGHT every single time and his defection was a major blow to the jaffa in their fight against the Ori
