Same here!!! Still so much love for good ol' SGA. Sheppard was the unintended (by the writers) dorkiest action hero ever.

God can you imagine the show if they had cast some other actor? Hahaha, Flannigan's bizarre acting choices was the best thing on that show.

They wanted Ben Browder but he was unavailable due to the Farscape wrap-up movie. Nope, wouldn't have been the same at all.

Don't get me started on Browder in Stargate. Stupid casting all around. He made the already unnecessary epilogue SG1 seasons even worse by basically playing the same character as he had done on Farscape. And he looked too similar to Shanks as well.

Mitchell was absolutely not equivalent to Crichton. Crichton was awesome. Mitchell was... okay I guess? But nothing special.

I loved Mitchell and Vala, but then I never watched Farscape so maybe I just wasn't sick of them or something. I dunno. I'm one of those fans that wished Shanks never came back to the show. I was not a Daniel fan in the later seasons.

Daniel was my favorite till he left. Then I got attached to Jonas and was upset when they dumped him when they brought back Shanks.

I really missed Jonas too. I wish they'd done one more ep with him in the last season.

Vala was a very different character from Aeryn. Claudia could actually act, so that wasn't a problem. Browder...he was the generic human guy on Farscape and was the Generic Guy on SG1. It would have been way better to have gotten a colonel like either of the two who got Wraithed over on Atlantis to be in charge on SG1, really shake things up a bit. Come to that, could they not have got Landry Wraithed instead? Bridges did too good a job of making Landry the epitome of a post 9/11 era General, a smug, self-satisfied, asshole.

Started out as generic human guy, but didn't stay that way.

Aw, I completely disagree. We just finished a rewatch of the whole series yesterday and that last season especially contains some of the best writing of the whole show.

Also, I think Crichton and Mitchell are way different from each other.

They really were. I think I finally decided (around halfway through season two) that Flannigan was just trolling the hell out of everyone else on the show.
