Edged weapons are generally for close combat and, um, you want to be really careful how close you get to a wraith, especially as most of them are tall and have a very long reach – so the more likely scenario is: you run up to them with a sword or axe and since they are stronger and faster, they grab your weapon and then drain the life out of you.

As for energy weapons, maybe it’s just me, but I always assumed they didn’t work quite the same way on wraiths as they did on humans (or beings with similar enough physiology) because of wraith physiology. I mean, maybe they would absorb the energy, at least from the less powerful weapons.
