Uh... I'm pretty sure the main reason why people don't like him very much, in addition to the casual racism/misogyny, is that Rosalind Franklin did most of the work towards the discovery of the structure of DNA, but he published her work without crediting her for any of it, so she didn't actually start getting recognition until years after her death... And even without the casual racism and misogyny, publishing a colleague's work as your own and ensuring they don't get any credit for one of the most important discoveries of modern science until after they've been dead for over a decade is a pretty huge dick move.
