what does assault have to do anything.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-22 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what happened in the books when the imprinted-on one rejected the imprinter. I think he tore her face off? Then she married him.

wth are you serious

(Anonymous) 2013-10-22 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
No. That is not how it worked.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-22 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, in the books after she told him to go away he just would leave for a little bit and then continue to come back again and again. Then he assaulted her. Then he asked her to tell him to kill himself because of the guilt. Then they got together. Much better!

Um, no. Just no. There is plenty wrong with imprinting without a flat out lie about it.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-22 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure it did:

"After Sam imprinted on Emily, she didn't accept him because of his relationship with Leah. Even after she found out about his newfound wolf form and new abilities, she still brushed him off, trying to convince him to return to Leah's arms. This went on for awhile when Sam visited her daily and she rejected him every time.

One day she ordered him to go back to Leah, but he refused. Emily called him a liar and said that he was just like his father, Joshua Uley. Sam, outraged, lost control of himself, phased into a werewolf and scarred her badly enough that 'mauled by a bear' was the only plausible cover story. Bella describes the wound as three deep scars that run along the right side of her face and distort her features, pulling down the corner of her eye and her mouth. In the aftermath of this incident, she finally gave up and accepted Sam in her life - telling Leah that she and Sam were together, which Leah had counted on not happening."

Why were there multiple relationships in those books where abuse was painted as love?

(Anonymous) 2013-10-23 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
At a guess, because Stephenie Meyer is fucked up?

(Anonymous) 2013-10-23 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
It was an accident The two of them were in a forest having an argument, when Emily said something that made Sam lose his temper, and begin to transform. He had less than a second to react to what was happening, so he tried to hold his hands up to warn her away. She misunderstood, and thought that he was just trying to tell her to be quiet, so she stepped forward to continue the argument. When he transformed, he suddenly took up so much more space that his hand (or rather, claw, now that he had transformed), which was still held out to warn her away, scratched her.

"She fell down the stairs, officer. She's so clumsy."

(Anonymous) 2013-10-23 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, really, she shouldn't have made him angry. She should have known better. He has such a temper, after all! It's not really his fault.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-23 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
" scratched her."

they had to write it off as "mauled by a bear" and you are describing that as 'scratched her'.

DUDE.

Citations.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-23 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
This is not in the books, and the wiki offers no citation for that explanation (i.e., a Meyer interview or anything like that). I have to assume that's just fanon.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-23 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
What?! That is not why Sam attacked Emily--he was angry and lost it in her presence and phased. Awful of course (allllll sorts of domestic violence implications that Smeyer just blithely ignored) but it wasn't because she'd rejected him.
