Basically: I told him losing his virginity didn't make someone an adult. Two sentence comment. He responded with a lengthy unasked for multiparagraph apologetic for his entire life wherein he said he was a Man but not an Adult despite being 27 because of certain choices he's making.

It was weird. I think calling him a loser is mean, though. He's just someone with a bunch of unresolved issues that he thought sex would somehow fix.

Frankly, it was kinda silly, the both of you. I was surprised it got dragged out so long.

I don't know. The guy will potentially be caring for a human being in nine months. I think his issues become very serious when you take that into account.

Not really. What people say and how they are are two different things. Frankly, nothing he said was that big of a deal, and certainly nothing to freak out over.

Um... probably not? They were going to get the morning after pill. That is pretty fucking reliable. The issue isn't making mistakes, the issue would be not dealing with them. You have a pretty unhealthy attitude, here.

Uhm, only I don't? You're under the impression that he actually went and did it. The guy can't even accept he's an adult, it's not that much of a stretch to think they didn't bother going?

And, I don't personally thing it's an unhealthy attitude to not want someone who isn't at grips with reality to be raising a child.

If he didn't, his girlfriend would. I think someone who doesn't want to be an adult would be so fucking terrified of having a kid they would buy two morning after pills just to be sure.

You know, the dude doesn't take the morning after pill, and women have been going places without a baby sitter for a long time, right?

Yeah, it was. I need to get better at picking my battles.

I stand by the idea that losing virginity = becoming a man/woman is a fucked up idea, though. That idea led me to things I regret when I was younger so it's personal.

And that's understandable but, you know...your personal and his are different, so....
Eh.
