(Anonymous) 2013-10-23 03:26 am (UTC)(link)Stephanie's Batgirl costume tops the list. The costume is functional and fits in with the rest of the Bat family, but is memorable and has a distinct Steph flair to it.
Donna Troy's starfield costume.
Mockingbird's costume, when they gave her pants instead of a swimsuit.
Kate Bishop's Hawkeye costume shows midriff, but I'd hardly call it slutty and, much like Steph's is very much a reflection of who she is.
So, no. Your two examples are both ugly as sin. PG's new costume is a boring-as-hell white unitard, and Carol's is just visually unappealing, imo. It's nothing to do with short skirts and boobs and everything to do with personality reflecting the character, doing them justice and, as others have said, being memorable. Giant yellow lighting bolt on a black field? Catches the eye. Dark, dark and more dark with vague lines? "meh".
