I have done this too, and I have absolutely zero shame.

For months, the only contact between us had been initiated by me, because he was too busy with his MMORG. Then, when he finally did get around to calling me, he managed to give me a "this is how you suck" lecture under the guise of "helpfully" suggesting that I might have ADHD.

I take no shame in cutting him off, without discussion.

I think it would have been decent of you to tell him why you were breaking it off. I totally understand *why* you did it though.
