I did, except I still can never figure out who is talking to who. When I answer/reblog (because you can't answer on tumblr, you have to rebolg)someone, there's no way for the OP to know that I did it so no one ever answers or joins the discussion. Or, you know, is even aware that I answered.

Basically, on yahoo/LJ you could be part of fandom even if no one knew you. Now? You can't. You need to have followers for anyone to see your stuff. Also, people don't auto-follow those who follow them like on LJ. Tags just don't work well for communities because people don't use them well.

Happy you managed to make it work, but it's a lot harder than just leaving a reply on a post.

This.

It's a format for blogging and image-sharing. It's not a good format for community- or discussion-based interactions at all.

I wouldn't mind something like Tumblr where it's possible to both reblog AND comment, and where you can join communities as well as have a personal page...they basically took away two of the most important features of a fandom site so a lot of people are really disappointed because they can no longer do what they used to be able to do.
