Woah, what happened with Catty Noir? I really liked her design and I'm not really in the fandom so I feel like I missed something. :(

There's a young girl who has videos on youtube of dressing up/makeup of various monster high characters (I haven't watched the video; I don't know if she does the makeup, or an adult does), and she dressed up as Catty Noir, painting her face black (literally black. Like a cat.) in the process.

Cue tumblr getting upset at her "blackface".

If they were going to be offended about something, it should have been that she was in catface, but wait...

I'm not even in the fandom but I randomly happened upon this video one day and yeah, the black face implications are kinda there. Unless her skin is suppose to be "bronze" like the asian ones skin is suppose to be "golden".

Yeah, the character she's dressing up as in that video is a robot made of copper, so it's the same situation as the Asian one's gold scales.
