On a scale of 1 to "they'll send you a virus, don't do it", how inadvisable is it to tell an email scammer to go fuck themselves?

I'm trying to rent out a room and the scammer is one of those that tell you they'll rent it but want to send you a faulty deposit for more money than you ask for and then ask for the difference back, so it's not like a Nigerian prince sending stuff at random. I need to rent out that room so every time one of these shows up my hate grows tenfold.

How about you guys? ever had to deal with shit like this? know any horror stories?

Don't bother. They'll either just ignore you, or possibly get into a fight with you. More likely ignore you. Scammers and spammers generally don't waste their time on difficult marks.

I'd be careful, honestly. If you're renting out a room then I assume they know details about you. But I always would anyway.

It never pays to be bitchy ins situations like this. Check your rage and just ignore.
