Foooooooood

What was the last thing you you ate/meal you had?

I am currently eating a bowl of oatmeal (cooked with bananas and cinnamon). Perfect on this very cold night.

Pepperjack cheese with crackers and orange juice.

That...does not sound like a good combination. But now I want some OJ, and all I have is milk.

I got a care package from home in the mail today so I've been scarfing peanut M&Ms. not the best snack, especially considering I skipped the gym today, but ehh fuck it.

I just had a 'So an Apple Walks into a Bar...' bar from Trader Joes.

Barbecued Ribs. Mmmmmm. But the only BBQ joint here needs to learn that opening a can of whole kernel corn is not an acceptable side. I could do that at home for 49 cents. (There's an AMAZING place an hour away, but I didn't feel like spending two hours of my day in transit.)

I went out to get lunch at my favorite lunch place and I had pasta salad and a turkey salad sandwich and it was so, so good. That restaurant is so freaking good, it's unfair. The pasta salad had pasta, and a kind of pesto sauce, and peppers, and artichoke hearts, and the turkey salad was delicious and not too heavy or anything, and it was really good.

I made a tomatoey, vegetabley pasta sauce. The secret ingredient is guacamole, nom nom nom.

Re: Foooooooood

(Anonymous) 2013-10-24 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I am intrigued. I've never thought about mixing guacamole with a tomatoey pasta sauce.

I was apparently slightly in error. It's a "guacamole style" topping (the brand name is Discovery), and I don't know quite what that means but it makes the sauce a little creamy and a little tangy and I've been using it a lot more in bologneses and pasta sauces than as a topping recently. It's delicious.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But I'm about to tear myself away from F!S and go make apple sage pork chops.

Spread some peanut butter and Nutella on a fudge-filled chocolate chip cookie, and sprinkled cinnamon over the top. I managed to eat about 3/4 of it because it was so tasty, which is more than I can manage to eat in one sitting most of the time.

Am debating whether to try out some of the research I've done on how to stimulate the appetite so maybe I can eat more, but wary of upsetting my stomach when for once eating didn't make it upset. :P

A Napoleon Oreo, and before that a bit of rotisserie chicken.

Re: Foooooooood

D-do you mean a Neapolitan Oreo? Because a Napoleon Oreo sounds about a thousand times better and I'm now immensely disappointed that such a thing doesn't exist.

...damn you autocorrect. THIS SHIT ALWAYS HAPPENS.

If Oreo decides to make Napoleon Oreo's I want some of the proceeds.

Chicken noodle soup. Usually awesome for cold nights too, but was leftovers from yesterday and I didn't heat it up enough/was too lazy to give it a second round in the microwave, so the soup at the top of my bowl was warm and the soup at the bottom was cold.

Leftover chicken enchiladas I made the other night. They're so much better the second day. Hngh.

Veggie and tofu teriyaki. Could've used more garlic, but we ran out and I forgot to buy more last night. Then some Brenton originals with cream cheese. Mm, cream cheese...

I really wanna make things like beef stroganoff, chicken enchilada "lasagna", and mac-n-cheese but my roommate is lactose. :P

Bread with some kind of spread from Brazil on it. My Brazilian friend left it here. The ingredients are in Portuguese which I haven't tried to translate, so I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it tastes similar to caramel and I think has little bits of nuts in it.
