I love how everyone in this thread is just assuming that the whole scene is gone, one way or the other. It's still kicking around, same way punk is, and every so often someone poodles along and says 'punk is dead' or 'all the goths grew out of it' and we all come out of the woodwork to shout at said person.

That said, most of the community I know of is online now. It's a hell of a lot harder to find a good goth club or even a club that has a goth night, and most of the alt stores in my area have shifted their focus from Tripp clothing to psychobilly and corsetry. But yeah, goth's still there, crossbreeding with lolita and rockabilly and steampunk, biding its time, awaiting the return of the Great Old Ones. (Hey, if the Backstreet Boys can get back together, then so can Bauhaus.)
