I ship Sam/Dean, but I also have a shitload of SPN ships. I love gen, too. fs

I just don't get the fics where the boys get engaged and married because what even. It's always so awkward. LOL (And the "baby boy" thing is weird and random, but I tolerate it).

Oh my god, yes. Those fics always weird me out. I read one non-AU fic where they got married and adopted children, and it was just so bizarre.

At the end of the fic, I just had so many questions: how the hell are they going to raise the kids? Why did they feel the need to adopt kids in the first place? How did the fic turn from super angsty I-hate-myself-for-being-in-love-with-my-brother fic into fluffy kidfic? LOL

LOL. Like I read one a few weeks ago where the boys started raising orphans after their parents were killed during hunts and I couldn't understand why they didn't call social services. Like I loved the fic - it was really good - but that bothered me.

Yeah, that sort of fic could actually work if the kid was some sort of supernatural creature, but, yeah, otherwise that doesn't make sense.

*Scratches head* Sam and Dean getting engaged and married? ...that's a thing?

Boy, way to take all the angsty secret fun out of incest.

I blame the prevalence of "The American Dream" (sometime referred to as "The Script" by CF people). Fanficcers transpose it onto their favourite characters and handwave away any logic that would say that it wouldn't work for them.
