The "majority"? There's loads of people who don't care for the show. Mind you don't cut yourself on that edge, dear.

The majority of fandom.

The fuck are you calling me dear and being mean to me for? I wasn't being an ass. I said it was fine. They're allowed to have their own opinions. I then offered other things they could do.

So really, are you just having a bad day and taking it out on me or what? But don't you ever call me dear in such a condescending tone again. You are plain rude.

The majority of Nightvale fandom.

Jesus Christ.

And, the fact I forgot to put a couple words when the topic of the secret was Night Vale fandom was a great excuse for the first anon to be an asshole?

Like, wow, I accidentally left out a word when I thought the topic was obvious, considering the context of the secret.

I dunno, doesn't seem like people should be that upset with me about it. I mean, have I missed something or was this secret not about Night Vale and Night Vale fandom? I'll admit I sometimes have reading comprehension issues and will apologize if there's something I'm missing here but I don't think I am.

Well, people shouldn't be upset with you now that you said you forgot a word. They're perfectly justified in being upset when you say their tastes basically make them weirdos.

Please tell me where I said it made them weirdos. Oh wait, that's right, I never did. Someone here is projecting.

It's called personal taste and yours doesn't align with the majority of people.

And when they were bothered by that, it became the majority of fandom. See the implied exclusion?

I mean, I understand forgetting words perfectly (and I understand you sometimes have reading comprehension problems, because I talk to you all the time here) but there's a good reason other!anon got in a snit.

Saying someone's tastes don't align with a majority of people, and in this context of the secret the majority being Night Vale fandom, is not a bad thing. Why would you think it is?

As an outside of Night Vale example, the majority of people (I know) like pizza. I hate it. My personal taste doesn't align with the majority. That's not bad. I even said right after that sentence "That's okay. It happens." Meaning it's perfectly fine to have a different opinion.

Why is someone a weirdo if they're not a part of the majority? I don't get it.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-25 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Don't worry about it. The anon overreacted and you don't understand why. That's okay. It happens.

Oh. Really? But it's not the same anon? I thought multiple people were upset. I wish I did understand though.

But thank you. I was feeling pretty low about this and you made me feel better.

Wow, way to nit-pick, anon. Why don't you un-anon and we can make this interesting.

I feel bad for you. I'm sorry that you need clarification on a conversation in a thread for a specific show/fandom.

AYRT

For the last time, the other anon wasn't me. I'm just explaining why they were upset and, surprise suprise, the FS knights show up for their holy crusade.

Also, I'd love to *ahem* step outside with you, but that seems a little pointless when I'm not even fighting with you.

[personal profile] neferet10210 2013-10-25 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, I can't tell who anybody is because you're all anonymous.

and lol knights and crusades.

In any case, even if you aren't upset, there was still a person climbing down another person's throat because of, like, two words. Which, to most people (and i mean actual most-"people" not just night-vale-fandom-"people"), didn't need clarification (I hope). Sssooo.... yeahhh.

YOU BROUGHT THE FIGHT. NOW YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES. (JK)

No, there is no good reason. Someone told me that "it's called personal taste and yours doesn't align with the majority of people" I'd say, "Thanks."
That's because I have this little thing called a rational brain and a small layer of skin.
