I know how you feel.

Shortly before I moved out of my parents' house, we had some new neighbors move in. They cut down an over 100 year old maple that was technically on their property, but it was as close to the property line as you can get. I played on and climbed that tree all the time growing up. Ironically, it happened as I was waiting on paperwork to move. I took it as another sign that it truly was the right time to strike out on my own.

My heart still hurts when I think about it, though. To the neighbors, it was just a tree. To me, it was a childhood playmate. /is still sad
