Isn't John Byrne also a super asshole on the Internet? Can we just go ahead and give all the credit for the run on X-Men to Chris Claremont? I guess there's nothing we can do about his run on FF.

He's also a super asshole in person, unless you're part of his little circle. ESPECIALLY if you're certain other creators (PAD comes to mind off the top of my head, but I'm sure I've read about major public clashes with others).

Byrne is one of those people that I wish I hadn't followed up on the Internet, although I like his work. The guy can be a complete douche.

About the only lasting impact Byrne had at DC was his portrayal of Superman in the 80s origin retelling Man of Steel, which still remains influential on the character in the comics as well as the movie this year.

And yes, he is a super asshole.
