I get a bit annoyed by the weekly, "you're anti-gay/bi/pan if you don't make this canon." Just because you read something in subtext doesn't mean the authors or showleaders need to follow you down that particular rabbit hole.

'You're anti- if you don't like this' is fucking stupid and a misapplication of critique. Sure, maybe a widespread trend to avoid a certain pairing might be symptomatic of racism or whatever but that doesn't follow that everyone who doesn't like it is significantly being ~racist.

Or homophobic, for that matter.

I don't ship swanqueen, but I do ship Mulan/Aurora and Snow/Ruby... I'm also a bi trans woman... Are there still people who would accuse me of being a homophobe for not shipping Swanqueen?

OMG this.. I saw a girl who was just dogpiled for saying she didn't see Johnlock.

A bunch of shrieky teen girls telling her she's hateful and pathetic and unloved because she doesn't ship their "~gay babies~" ...ugh It made my stomach turn.

OMG this. And I hate the Internet abuse that show writers/authors/etc get just because OMG MAKE IT CANON ALREADY. Fans seem to forget that shows/movies aren't their property and they really have no right to demand anything of the creators.
